Florida Requirements

I. Requirements for Initial Florida Licensure

1. 2 hours of Preventing Medical Errors education
2. 1 hour of HIV-AIDS education

II. Requirements for Florida Renewal by August 31, 2010

A.  If your Florida license was issued WITHIN the CURRENT biennium (09/01/08 to 08/31/10):

1. 2 hours of Preventing Medical Errors education
2. 1 hour of HIV-AIDS education

B.  If your Florida license was RENEWED IN 2008:

TOTAL MINIMUM HOURS = 24 hrs including:

1. 2 hours of Preventing Medical Errors education
2. 1 hour of HIV-AIDS education
3. 1 hour of FL Clinical Personnel Law & Rules
4. 1 hour in each lab area of licensure
5. 1 hour in Management-Supervision if you are a Supervisor or Director.
